At Music In Motion Dance Studio we emphasize building creativity and confidence in every student.  From students that attend once a week to those that rehearse and dance upwards of 10 hours a week – our team of expert and compassionate instructors cultivate an environment of dedicated and fun learning.

 

Creative Movement Dance Ballet Graduation Performance

Intro To Dance Classes

Ages 18 months to 6 years old.
Children progress through a series of ballet & functional movement based dance classes aimed at inspiring a love of dance, movement, creativity and learning from an early age. 


Junior pre-teen dance class jazz dance at Music In Motion in Virginia Beach

Junior Classes

Age 7-9
Classes in all dance forms from ballet to acro at the commitment level that works best for your family.  Have fun with friends in our Hip-Hop/Acro program one night a week or try the classic techniques of Jazz and Lyrical!

Boys & Teen Beginner Classes

Age 3 & up
We welcome students who want to start their dance journey at any age.  Teens can try Ballet Basics or Jazz/Modern combo. Boys get male instructors in Breakdancing and can flip their hearts out in tumbling class!

Dance Technique Classes

Age 11 & up
A progressive education in classical dance forms that continuously builds the foundation for powerful, artistic expression through dance!    Choose from Modern/Contemporary, Ballet/Pointe, and Jazz training and add electives like Hip-Hop, Acro and Tap.

Performance Team

Emerald Team starting at age 8, Diamond Team age 12
Committed students who wish the opportunity to rehearse, learn and perform in an additional curated performance as well as local & regional competition may audition for the Music In Motion Dance Company.  This 501c3 non-profit organization conducts fundraisers, workshops, and public performances to foster support for the art of dance. The organization encourages its dancers to exhibit self-confidence, self-discipline, and community responsibility.
